Ambassador Program Terms & Conditions

1. The program

The Hoo You Know Campus Ambassador Program is a volunteer program for University of Virginia students and alumni to help grow readership of the Hoo You Know newsletter. Hoo You Know is an independent publication and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the University of Virginia.

2. Your account

Signing up creates an ambassador account and subscribes your email address to the Hoo You Know newsletter. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login email current. One account per person.

3. Communications

By joining, you agree to receive program notifications from us by email — for example, when someone subscribes through your referral link or when you reach a milestone. You can turn these off at any time in the Settings tab of your dashboard; transactional messages (like login codes) are always sent. You also agree that the founder may contact you directly using the email and phone number you provide, including by call or text, about your participation in the program.

4. Conduct

Share Hoo You Know honestly and like a human being. Don’t spam, don’t misrepresent the program or the publication, don’t sign people up without their knowledge, and don’t claim to speak officially for Hoo You Know — you’re an ambassador, not an employee or agent. We may remove referral credit that we determine, in our reasonable judgment, was obtained through fake accounts, self-referrals, or other manipulation.

5. No compensation guarantee

The program is unpaid. Milestones, recognition, meetings, and any potential internship or role are discretionary — no subscriber count guarantees anything. Referral counts shown on your dashboard are measured by our systems and are final.

6. Ending participation

You can stop any time by emailing us or simply going quiet. We may pause or end an account that violates these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (like our rights over our data and brand) survive.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. Continuing to participate after changes means you accept them.
