I started Hoo You Know as a software project — a personal CRM for students to organize their networking efforts.
I built a prototype, but never released it.
I was assuming (a) students already had a network and (b) knew how to build one.
So I started to send out guides on cold emails, coffee chats, and how to think about professional relationships. Thus, the birth of the newsletter.
I'm no expert, so I'd call alumni I knew to inform the content.
On every call, I discovered new industries and insights—so I began sharing the transcripts to pass that value on to others.
I never thought anyone but my parents would read these emails, let alone 400+ students and alumni every week.
What started as a side project to make networking easier has turned into a mission to make career exploration more human.
Thanks for reading, sharing, and coming along for the ride.
Best,
      Ryan
