OVERVIEW
Roles Available
Interviewer & Writing Editor:
You help produce the core product — alumni stories read by 1,000+ students each week.
Responsibilities
Reach out to and schedule interviews with UVA alumni
Conduct structured interviews using prepared question sets
Transform transcripts into polished feature posts
Work directly with the founder on content production
What we’re looking for
Strong writing and editing ability
Professional communication skills
Reliability and comfort following up with alumni
Growth & Marketing:
Help scale Hoo You Know from 1,000 to 10,000+ readers.
Responsibilities
Run subscriber growth initiatives across Instagram and LinkedIn
Coordinate outreach to student orgs and alumni networks
Distribute posters and campus materials
Test new channels and growth strategies
What we’re looking for
Creative, self-directed execution
Comfort owning projects end-to-end
Bonus: design or social media experience
Business Development:
Expand partnerships with brands that want to reach UVA students.
Responsibilities
Identify and research potential sponsors
Pitch partnership opportunities
Manage relationships through signed deals
Support partnership strategy and outreach
What we’re looking for
Strong written and verbal communication
Comfort making outreach and “the ask”
Self-motivated pipeline management
Bonus: sales or entrepreneurship experience
